San Diego

Outside USS Midway Museum

This post is way overdue.  This mid August, we went to San Diego for a short trip... flew from SFO to San Diego with our little man via Virgin America. It was our first domestic flight with our little man this year, after our long international trip in early January this year. Flying with a baby in a domestic flight was quite a different experience when compared with an international one. No bassinet, no extra space... nada!  The last domestic trip with WY was from Fort Lauderdale to SFO in 2011 Nov.  It was a disaster!  Clearly not enough sleep for my five month old.  The trip was absolutely miserable.  This time round, it went awesome... WY snoozed all the way on me. :)  Maybe it was just a short trip.  Let's see how this coming up trip flying to Europe goes!

Anyway, we enjoyed yummy sushi... tried this fusion Italian food at this excellent yelp review of Cucina Urbana.... YUM!!  Had some awesome Mexican food at downtown, Taco Express... of course, gotta have the dessert from Extraordinary Desserts.  The desserts are quite extraordinary indeed, but not the service!

Here're some pictures from our trip:
Lobster Risoto for lunch...

Yumm... sweet potato fries!
Met up for lunch in between
 his conference...

Preferred walking around barefoot...
Extraordinary Desserts
Gigantic Nutella in one of the
grocery store in the Little Italy
He simply couldn't resist this
truffle parmesan fries - Cucina Urbana.
Wy's lunch and my brunch.

We drove to beautiful La Jolla Cove as well.  The weather was great!  There were a lot of ppl snorkeling, diving, kayaking and kids were having fun swimming.... esp when the seals came up close to them!  The kids were so excited!  More pics..

Family Party @ Google

Lounging around waiting
 for papa :)

Last Friday, Wy and I went to Google for lunch.  The Chrome Hardware team were having a family party at Garfield Park on Google campus.  It was fun!  Never in my entire life got to play with these fun stuff until now. Did the slide and the bouncer. :)  They had lots of free snacks/desserts...  yummy mini donuts, cotton candy, rainbow shave ice, Ben & Jerry ice cream (gotta love that!) ...etc.   Wy was having fun walking around the park/field bare foot.   Life is good indeed. I think it would be more fun for older kids.  Wy is too young for these fun stuff. Unexpectedly, we hung out there for the whole afternoon!!
Picked up a free swag when entering into Garfield Park;
which is just across the st from Choon's office bldg.
So many kids....

I'm sure they'd fun too!
Of course I had one of these! :D

Even tho it stated "adults only"...

...we can still bring our kids in. HA!
Happily bouncing around...
Done!

Out and about in San Mateo

Last week, Wei Yang and I went to visit Zainab and Khalil after  dropping off Choon Ping at SFO.  We went to a toy store in San Mateo downtown.  It's a really nice store, with lots of toys to play with.  And if one likes it, they can buy it from them. Wei Yang was quite apprehensive at the beginning...  until he played with the kitchen bottles collection.

I love these life size giraffes!

Wei Yang had fun with these kitchen bottles.
Khalil loves the kitchen stuff!
Especially opening and closing the cabinets.
Japanese Garden at San Mateo

It was great that both little men fell asleep in their strollers for quite a while.  Z and I got to hung out and chat a for a bit while enjoying pizza. :)  We went to a Japanese garden nearby as well.

Huge coi fish...

Wy's first haircut back in end of June

This week seems to be my "catch up week" for my neglected blog.  Here's a little posting about what we did to Wei Yang's hair end of June.

We put him on the bumbo chair and played his favourite VCD.  That really kept him on the chair for a while! :)  ...even when we were "cleaning" him up... hehe.. :P

Almost done...

Baby Shower for Lynn & Jack

I recently had the pleasure to design and host a baby shower for Lynn and Jack this past weekend. Rarely do I get such opportunity to do a floral and event design.  I almost went all the way.  But now that I have a little man with me, especially now that he's in a super clingy phase,  I had to let go some of the fun and adorable food labels that wanted to do. My "baby sitter" (Choon Ping) did not allow me to spend too much sleepless night on this. :P  :(    It's ok. I can always hope for other opportunities. hehehe...

Thanks Lynn!  I had so much fun creating the event!  Thank you Jocelyn, Susan, Lynn, and Lynn's dad for helping out.  Also, thanks for the baby sitters as well: Choon Ping, and Albert.  The event won't be as successful without your help! :)
Care to have some English Tea?

Trip to Carmel

We stayed at Hyatt Carmel Highlands for 2 nights last week.  Thought that we were just going to take advantage of the $99/night deal for 2 nights, as long as we went to the 90mins timeshare presentation.  ...we were sold! :P    It's ok.  We love Carmel anyways... and own a little piece of it :)

4th of July

It's great that Choon Ping had a long 4th of July holiday.  Thanks to his generous company! :)  We didn't do much on that day.   Just hung out at home all day and relax... until around 9:15pm, we went to watch fireworks.  Great view from Choon Ping's office building!

We were quite surprised that Wy actually enjoyed watching it.  Of course... he was very tired after that.... way passed his bed time.   It's ok.... only on special occasions. :)
