Christmas dinner @ P'ng/Judy

After spending time with Arif and Tahera, we went to P'ng and Judy's place for Christmas dinner. Had a good time with Kai Xiang! He is very interactive and fun these days!

Another fanstastic meal by the renowned Chef P'ng

Xmas in San Francisco

We spent our Christmas hanging out with Arif and Tahera. They have just moved into their new apt in San Francisco.

We spent a night there and took some night pictures. The view is fantastic!! The following view looks to the Marina and San Francisco Bay.
Then there is the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
We were greeted with the view in the morning. How lucky!

Drywall + Stucco

Walls in our house is now covered. Insulation has been applied. All the interior wirings are also done. The drywalls are now installed. Drywall needs to be patched to make them even. So they are applying a layer of plaster, and let it dry. Then sand it down, and reapply another layer. Have to do this 2-3 times before the wall will appear flat. Unfortunately we are now experiencing a cold streak, hence the plaster is taking a long time to dry. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do before the walls dry. So what to do? Just wait...

Here is a picture of the first layer of stucco. Stucco is really just cement. Applied multiple layer. This is the first quite. It sticked to the wall because of the chicken wire covering the surface. If you look carefully, the cement is scraped. I think this is to create extra surface for the 2nd coat to stick better. The second coat is also applied last weekend, now it is also waiting time for that coat to dry. Again, the rainy/cold weather don't help.

Insulation + Stucco

Check out the insulation installed on the ceiling. We should get warmth now.
Stucco the external wall. Look at the cement applied onto the wall. The guy has to prep the exterior wall with waterproof sheet first. Then put a layer of "chicken wire" so that the cement will hold.
More insulation in the kitchen area. You can preview the skylight in this picture.
